The Rices Crossing Store was built in 1849 in the Blue Hill community. The store was built by James O. Rice who later became a Texas Ranger. In 1871 the name changed to Rices Crossing. The store served the community for many years. The store was a place where people in the community gathered to meet with friends and family. The Old Settlers Association restored and has old antiques donated such as cans and other items used during that time.
